Our Commitment
Kingdom Pieces Publishing Ltd (“KP Publish”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors to our website, regardless of ability or the technology used to access it. We continually strive to improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to achieve this.
We believe that every person should be able to access our content, browse our books, and interact with our services with ease and dignity. Accessibility is not an afterthought — it is a core part of how we design, build, and maintain our online presence.
Conformance Standard
Our website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
WCAG 2.2 is built on four core principles. Content must be Perceivable, meaning users must be able to perceive the information presented. Content must be Operable, meaning users must be able to operate the interface. Content must be Understandable, meaning users must be able to understand the information and operation of the interface. Content must be Robust, meaning it must be compatible with current and future assistive technologies.
While WCAG 2.2 Level AA is our target, we recognise that full conformance across every page at all times may not always be immediately achievable, particularly where third-party content or tools are involved. We are committed to ongoing improvements and addressing any gaps as quickly as possible.
Accessibility Features on Our Website
We have implemented a dedicated accessibility toolbar on our website, available on every page via the floating accessibility icon. This toolbar provides visitors with a range of tools to customise their browsing experience according to their individual needs.
The accessibility toolbar includes the following features and adjustments, which can be activated or deactivated at any time.
Text and Display Adjustments
Visitors can adjust the font size of content across the website using a slider control, increasing text up to 200% of the default size. Line height can also be adjusted to increase the spacing between lines of text, making content easier to read for users with visual or cognitive impairments. Letter spacing controls allow users to increase the space between individual characters for improved readability.
A dyslexia-friendly font option is available, which switches the website’s typeface to OpenDyslexic — a font specifically designed to improve readability for individuals with dyslexia. The weighted bottoms of each letter help prevent common letter-swapping and rotation issues.
Colour and Contrast Options
Our toolbar offers several display modes to suit different visual needs. High contrast mode enhances the colour contrast across the website, making text and interface elements more distinguishable. Dark mode switches the website to a dark background with light text, which can reduce eye strain and improve readability for users who are sensitive to bright light.
A grayscale mode removes all colour from the page, which can be helpful for users who find colour distracting or who experience colour-related visual difficulties. A link highlighting feature makes all hyperlinks more visually prominent by applying a high-visibility yellow background with bold underlined text, ensuring links are easy to identify and distinguish from surrounding content.
Reading Aids
We provide two reading assistance tools to help users focus on specific portions of text. The reading guide places a horizontal highlighted bar that follows the mouse cursor across the page, acting as a visual ruler to help track lines of text. The reading mask dims all content above and below the cursor position, creating a focused reading window that reduces visual distraction.
A text-to-speech feature is available, allowing users to select any text on the page and have it read aloud using the browser’s built-in speech synthesis. This can be particularly helpful for users with visual impairments, reading difficulties, or those who prefer auditory content consumption.
An option to hide images is also provided, which removes visual media from the page to reduce distractions and allow users to focus solely on text content.
Navigation and Interaction Aids
Our website includes a skip-to-content link that becomes visible when using keyboard navigation. This allows keyboard users to bypass the header and navigation elements and jump directly to the main content area of the page, in accordance with WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 2.4.1.
An enlarged cursor option increases the size of the mouse pointer, making it easier to locate and track on screen for users with visual or motor impairments. An enhanced focus indicator feature adds a prominent, highly visible outline around any element that receives keyboard focus, exceeding the minimum requirements of WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 2.4.7 and meeting the enhanced requirements of Success Criterion 2.4.13.
A pause animations feature allows users to stop all motion, transitions, and animations across the website. This supports users who experience discomfort, distraction, or seizure risks from moving content, in line with WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 2.3.1.
Saving Your Preferences
When enabled in our settings, the accessibility toolbar remembers your chosen preferences using your browser’s local storage. This means your adjustments will be automatically applied the next time you visit our website, without needing to reconfigure your settings each session.
You can reset all accessibility settings to their defaults at any time using the “Reset All Settings” button within the toolbar. No account or login is required to use any accessibility feature, and no personal data is collected or transmitted as part of this process.
Keyboard Accessibility
Our website is designed to be fully navigable using a keyboard alone. All interactive elements including links, buttons, form fields, and toolbar controls can be reached and operated using the Tab key, Shift+Tab, Enter, and Escape keys. The accessibility toolbar can be opened using the Alt+A keyboard shortcut and closed using the Escape key.
We use semantic HTML elements and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes throughout the website to ensure that assistive technologies such as screen readers can accurately convey the structure and purpose of our content. Navigation landmarks, heading hierarchies, and form labels are structured to provide a logical and intuitive experience for assistive technology users.
Content Accessibility
We take the following measures to ensure our content is accessible. All images include descriptive alternative text that conveys the purpose or content of the image to users who cannot see it. Where images are purely decorative, they are marked as such so that screen readers skip them appropriately.
Our content is structured using a logical heading hierarchy, progressing from H1 through to H3 and beyond without skipping levels, to ensure screen readers and assistive technologies can present an accurate document outline. Colour is never used as the sole means of conveying information, and all text meets or exceeds the minimum contrast ratios defined by WCAG 2.2 Level AA — 4.5:1 for standard text and 3:1 for large text.
Links are written to be descriptive and meaningful, clearly indicating their destination or purpose. We avoid generic link text such as “click here” or “read more” wherever possible.
Third-Party Content
Our website may include content, services, or tools provided by third parties, such as embedded videos, social media feeds, or payment processors. While we make every reasonable effort to ensure that third-party content meets accessibility standards, we cannot guarantee full conformance for content that is not directly within our control.
Where we identify accessibility barriers in third-party content, we will take steps to address the issue, whether by working with the provider, offering an accessible alternative, or clearly communicating any limitations to our users.
Compatibility
Our website and accessibility toolbar are designed to be compatible with the following. Modern web browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, and their mobile equivalents. Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), and TalkBack (Android). Operating systems including Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux.
We test our website across a range of devices and assistive technologies on a regular basis. However, we recognise that the wide variety of hardware, software, and assistive technology combinations means some users may experience differences in how accessibility features perform. If you encounter any issues, we encourage you to contact us so we can investigate and resolve them.
Known Limitations
While we work to ensure the highest level of accessibility, we are aware of certain limitations. Some older PDF documents on our website may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these and ensure all future documents meet accessibility standards. Some third-party embedded content may not fully conform to WCAG 2.2. User-generated content, such as comments or reviews, may not always meet our accessibility standards despite our best efforts to provide accessible input mechanisms.
We maintain an ongoing programme of testing and improvement to identify and resolve accessibility issues as they arise.
Feedback and Contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any barriers, have difficulty accessing any content, or would like to suggest improvements, please contact us using any of the following methods.
Email: contact@kppublish.co.uk
Contact Form: kppublish.co.uk/contact
When reporting an accessibility issue, it is helpful to include the web address (URL) of the page where you experienced the problem, a description of the issue, the device and browser you were using, and any assistive technology involved. We aim to acknowledge all accessibility feedback within five working days and to provide a resolution or update within ten working days.
Enforcement and Legal Framework
In the United Kingdom, the Equality Act 2010 requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments to ensure their services are accessible to disabled people. This includes websites and online services. Our commitment to WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance supports our obligations under this legislation.
We also recognise the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 as a benchmark of good practice, and we align our approach with its principles where applicable, even where we are not legally required to do so.
Review and Updates
This Accessibility Policy is reviewed regularly and updated to reflect changes to our website, our accessibility features, or relevant legislation and standards. The most recent review was conducted on the date shown at the top of this page.
We are committed to ongoing improvement and will continue to invest in making our website as accessible and inclusive as possible for all users.
